China Glaze: Seahorsin' Around

Good evening readers! Today I have for you a polish from the China Glaze Sea Goddess collection: Seahorsin' Around. This is an amazing blue texture polish. The blue textures seem to be my favorite. This polish reminds me of the blue texture from the Mariah Carey collection!

As usual, all photos are taken with my phone using a desk lamp as lighting.

And I'm super excited, I just got an Olloclip for my phone and so I've included a macro of the polish. So preeeeetty!

Seahorsin' Around was super easy to work with and covered in 2 coats.

Thanks for reading!

More Nail Art

Hey guys! In lieu of posting swatches I'm just sharing some of my instagram photos for now. You can find me at aleah86 for others. Although that's my only instagram so you'll get to meet my cat too!

I had one of those nights where I just couldn't sleep so I did a simple french sponge gradient. In hindsight, I shoudkbhabe started with a white base but oh well. I used Zoya Cho and a Pure Ice random white. I added a coat of OPi You Callin' Me A Lyre to smooth everything out and finished with China Glaze Fairy Dust to add some sparkle. Haha. I was pretty bored.

Nail Art

Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Life has been pretty hectic lately and posting just wasn't an option.

I've just got a quickie for you today. I couldn't sleep so I did a quick gradient look on my left hand. (My right has has some orange cheery color on it. Haha)
I used China Glaze Flirty Tankini for the pink and Finger Paints Pop Art Purple for the....want to guess? (Hint: it's the purple.) But I bet you guessed that! Hehe. I used the sponge method for the gradient and then added a layer of Maybelline Clearly Spotted for the black and white glitter.

I really love this look. It's so bright and just stands out but is super simple to do.

I hope you enjoyed this quick nail art share and have a great night! (Or day, depending on your location.)

^_^

Just wanted to add a quick update. I saw this design with similar colors and the black/white polka dots on Chalkboard Nails. I didn't do it the same way; I used a sponge. Click the link for the inspiration for this and info on a different technique.

China Glaze: I'm With The Lifeguard

Good evening guys! Today's post is a summer post with one of my favorite neons. Nothing says summer to me quite like a good neon polish! I'm With The Lifeguard is from last year's summer collection and is a shimmery bright green.

Check it out. Awesome right?

China Glaze It's a Trap-eze

Hello all! How is everyone this evening?

Today I have a polish by China Glaze from the Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away collection: It's a Trap-eze.  I missed out on this polish the first time around and actually ended up ordering it off Amazon.com. I thought it was a really neat idea: jelly sandwich in a bottle. Unfortunately, I found this polish super difficult to work with and not quite awesome enough to make the application worth it. The polish is really thick and hard to apply evenly. The colors are fantastic, but I doubt I'll grab for this again, unless I'm going for a theme with my nails and this polish fits the theme.

Sorry for the mess! I really found this just too difficult to work with.

China Glaze: Strap On Your Moonboots

Good morning! Hope everyone is having a good day so far! I'm just getting ready to head off to work so this is a quick post, since I didn't get it in yesterday! This is the final polish I picked up from the Hologlam (gram? I'm honestly not sure what this collection is called. I've seen different things) Collection: Strap On Your Moonboots.

This is a gorgeous deep blue holo. This is two coats and I had no issues with the formula.

Drool with me? All these colors are just uh-MAZ-ing. You can check out my other two posts on this collection here and here.

My final thought: I really love these colors. I don't like pink and for some reason, I don't like the lighter holos either so I skipped those for now. When I picked these up, I thought When Stars Collide would be my favorite. (I think I even said it was while I was swatching it!) It turns out that once I got them all on my nails, I completely fell for OMG A UFO. All the shades are gorgeous though and I will probably end up with a couple more colors.

Do you have favorites? Which ones? I did have a hard time choosing one!

China Glaze: OMG A UFO

Hello all! Here is my second installment of the China Glaze Hologlam Collection. Last time I showed you When Stars Collide and Galactic Grey. I only picked up two more shades and I decided to split them between two posts since they are both fairly picture heavy.

Today I am showing you the drool-worthy OMG a UFO. You're giving me a green holographic polish?? Yes! This is an olive green holo and probably my favorite of the collection.

Tomorrow I'll be posting the final polish I decided to pick up from this collection: Strap on Your Moon Boots! Stay tuned!

China Glaze: When Stars Collide and Galactic Grey

Hello! Hope you all had a good week! Mine was pretty uneventful, mostly work. Today I have for your my swatches of some of the polishes from the Hologlam Collection. This is a very anticipated collection. It's full of 12 holographic colors. Today I only have 2, but they all look gorgeous. I'm not a fan of pink and couldn't buy them all so I only got the first couple on my list of "most wanted." The two I have for you today are Galatic Grey and When Stars Collide.

This post is very picture heavy. The polish was just too pretty! All pictures are taken under a lamp, indoors.

Galatic Grey is a dark charcoal grey holo. I don't like black-looking polishes but this type, with a little bit of something extra, I LOVE.

When Stars Collide is my favorite of the collection. It's a deep red-purple holo and I think the color is just so unique compared to the usual color selection I've seen for holographic polish. Usually they're light purple/lilac so the deep colors are really getting me with this collection!

I don't know if maybe I'm just too new to the blogging and nail polish world, but I had absolutely ZERO issues with application or formula on these. This is three and two coats respectively. I didn't have any issues at all with balding or dragging, and the dry time was very fast. Minimal cleanup was necessary.

I also plan on getting the olive green from this collection as well as the dark blue! The colors are just not found anywhere else yet! What are your favorites?

China Glaze: Tart-y for the Party

Hello all!! Today I have the third polish from China Glaze's Avant Garden collection. I really hate the name of this one. Haha I think of Real Housewives of I forget where -- Miami maybe? -- and there was a song done by one of them with the same name. Hated the name then too. Haha So, now that you know I watch Real Housewives, lets get to the polish: Tart-y for the Party.

This polish is a classic lilac purple. It's a creme polish and while my photos all have topcoat, it's super shiny without it too! This was most a one coater but the swatches are two.

China Glaze: Dandy Lyin' Around

Hello guys! I've got the next polish in my batch of shades from the Avant Garden collection by China Glaze! Today's polish is Dandy Lyin' Around.

This polish is a milky-white base with silver shimmer. Like Keep Calm, Paint On, it's visible but subtle and elegant. I never thought I was one for white polishes but this is just too pretty! It reminds me a bit more of winter and fresh snow than it does of spring or a dandy lion. Although, I'm actually happy someone took the white dandy lion idea instead of coming up with a yellow polish! Much prettier.

I was concerned it was a dupe of Picture Polish's White Wedding, but it's not. I'll post a comparison in a few days!

Pic time!!

China Glaze: Keep Calm, Paint On

Today I have a snow day!! We are getting the Midwest blizzard (affectionately called "snowmageddon") so my workplace closed. I used the time to catch up on some swatching!! I have four of the China Glaze spring collection shades. With the limitations on photo positioning on my phone, I'll be posting them one at a time.

Today I have, as you probably figured from the title (hah!), Keep Calm, Paint On. This is a light, minty green with silver shimmer. I didn't see the shimmer at first but it's really pretty. Noticeable but still subtle in an elegant way. The formula was thick but not hard to work with and this is 3 coats!

If you're also getting the snow then please be careful and drive safely!

China Glaze: Creative Fantasy

Hello! Today has been a hectic day for me! Between moving into a new apartment, a doctor appointment, and working, I've just been all over the place! Finally I have my lunch (dinner, really since I work late) break!

Today I have for you Creative Fantasy from the Cirque du Soleil collection by China Glaze. I have a few others but this one is my favorite. It's a dark purple jelly that somehow manages to be true dark purple AND almost neon at the same time. It's impressive and looks really pretty. I also like that it will work for jelly sammiches! I don't have any picture of those but I've done a few. The only thing I didn't like was the formula was patchy. It didn't look like it in real life, but you can see how spotty and uneven the polish is at 2 coats. Doesn't put me off though because his really is an awesome polish!
