Back after a LOOOONG hiatus!

Whew!  How have you all been?? Sorry there hasn't been anything new for so long. I've been moving and had a bit of an accident with the pinky finger of my swatching hand.

I decided to take a break from blogging for awhile and do other things. Unfortunately, during that time I managed to badly injure my pinky nail to the point that the entire nail just fell off. It hurt and looks terrible. I can't even include it in pictures at the moment. :( Maybe someday I can but that'll be a long way off.

I'm kind of just getting my feet wet for now so today I just have a simple nail gradient I did. I used China Glaze What A Pansy and Essie First Timer for my colors. Just something basic to get back in the game with!

I'm sorry for how wonky my nails are. I made the mistake of getting acrylics a few months back and they're still recovering.

I'll be back with more soon! Thanks for reading and have a good day!

Illamasqua: Mottle

Good evening guys! I'm back with another quick post. Today's nails are Illamasqua Mottle, a cute speckled green! I love this color because it makes me think of mint chip ice cream.

What do you think? Want some ice cream now? I know I sure do! That's all for the night. Thanks for stopping by!

Maybelline Color Show: Mystic Green

Hey guys!! Sorry it's been so long since I made a real post! I've had a ton of stuff going on in my personal life and that meant I had to put blogging on the back burner.

Today I have what I consider an interesting post for you. So, like many of you are, I love holographic polish. It's just so darn PRETTY! I found a display of holographic polish at my Walgreens by Maybelline.... except they looked off. It didn't look like they were holographic at all! Well, I decided a few of the colors were pretty so I went ahead an grabbed two of them and decided I would swatch Mystic Green first.

I was right. They really aren't holographic. Not linear, not scattered. However, Mystic Green is a very jungle-esque green. It almost seems like a duo chrome with a lighter yellow green that shifts to a deeper green around the edges. Overall a very pretty color, although again, NOT holographic.

I do like the color. Sorry for the funky watermark. As usual, I'm on my phone and the "there's an app for that" doesn't seem to be quite true. Haha

So what do you think? I think this looks line the duochromes they put out earlier in the year. I'll have the other color I picked up soon!

China Glaze: I'm With The Lifeguard

Good evening guys! Today's post is a summer post with one of my favorite neons. Nothing says summer to me quite like a good neon polish! I'm With The Lifeguard is from last year's summer collection and is a shimmery bright green.

Check it out. Awesome right?

Revlon Amethyst

Hello! I've got a real pretty for you today!! I put this on and drooled. Although, that's actually fairly common for me to do! Haha.

Today I have another one of the polishes from the Chroma Chameleon collection: Amethyst. I LOVE this. It looks like an oil spill on your nails. I think those types of duochromes are just gorgeous. This polish shifts from pink-toned purple to a dark green. For this post I layered two coats over plain black.

What do you think? Pretty right? These were in displays at Walgreens. I'm not sure if they still are  or not now, but if you find them I would pick this pretty baby up!

Zoya Vespa (again)

Good morning everyone! I know I already did a post with Vespa from Zoya's PixieDust collection, but let's be honest: it was just one picture.... and it really wasn't all that good. Haha. Soooo, I took some new ones to go a long with my post on Godiva.

Here is Vespa, again. The lovely sage green textured polish from Zoya's PixieDust collection. I *think* I got the shimmer captured. That's truly what makes these polishes amazing.

I really love these polishes. At first I didn't like the whole textured polish craze that is going on, but the shimmer that these have is just fantastic! It really looks like someone poured crushed gems and sugar on your nails. I'm super impressed. I'm probably going to just stick with these two colors from this round of PixieDust polishes because it looks like there are some bright colors coming out later this year... and THOSE I want. I want them already and haven't even seen them swatched!

Hope you liked the better version of swatches from this post! Check out my post on Godiva HERE if you haven't see that one yet!

Girly Bits Cosmic Ocean and Street Magic

Good afternoon all! I'm super excited about the release of Pam's new Girly Bits collection tomorrow and so in honor of the release I have a few of my favorite layering polishes, probably ever: Cosmic Ocean and Street Magic. These are multi colored shimmers that can be layer over any color. In my pictures I picked to layer them over black, but they also look stunning over blues and greens and purples!

Street Magic is a green/gold shimmer. It shifts from green to yellow to red to gold. It's just amazing and looks just as stunning over green or blue; although, I've chosen black for my swatches.

I just. Pictures barely do this justice. Next though I have Cosmic Ocean for you. I consider Cosmic Ocean my favorite layering polish of all time. The way it transforms a normal black polish isjust.... I have no words. None. Pictures will in NO way do this polish justice. It's just so incredible I can only hope to have captured at least a little bit of it's awesomeness.

Isn't that just amazing? Over normal black. And the shimmer is just insane. I can't even talk about it properly it's so stunning.

Girly Bits Polish can be purchased at Pam's store for $10/bottle. I highly recommend these polishes. I was hoping to get Shift Happens in here as well, but I couldn't track down my bottle so I'll swatch that one later From what I understand, Pam's Spring It On Me collection will be released tomorrow although these two polishes are already for sale and not part of that collection.

***All polish in this post was purchased by me.***

Zoya Vespa

Hello! Today I just have a short post with a picture of one of the PixieDust polishes by Zoya: Vespa. This polish was pretty much impossible to capture. There is an amazing fine silver glitter that sparkles in person but won't photograph.
Based on pictures I had already written this off as one I wouldn't like but I was wrong! I'll be picking up the rest of the collection soon!

China Glaze: OMG A UFO

Hello all! Here is my second installment of the China Glaze Hologlam Collection. Last time I showed you When Stars Collide and Galactic Grey. I only picked up two more shades and I decided to split them between two posts since they are both fairly picture heavy.

Today I am showing you the drool-worthy OMG a UFO. You're giving me a green holographic polish?? Yes! This is an olive green holo and probably my favorite of the collection.

Tomorrow I'll be posting the final polish I decided to pick up from this collection: Strap on Your Moon Boots! Stay tuned!

A England: Princess Sabra

Hello all! Just a quick post today featuring one of my favorite holos. This is Princess Sabra. It's a super unique color. I would call it a light, olive-green holo.

The formula is beautiful. I probably could have done a 3rd coat on a few nails but I was rushing and so this is two costs. For a holographic polish, that's a dream. The dry time is fast and there was no issue with dragging or bald spots!

The last pic is with flash.

Sinful Colors: Bombshell

Hello! Hope everyone had a good Friday! It's my day off so I spent mine grocery shopping, cleaning, and cooking. Today's polish is Sinful Colors Bombshell. I found this at Walgreens in a "Limited Edition" stand. We usually don't get new Sinful Colors displays in my area so I stopped and looked at it. It was mostly glitters and all I picked up was Bombshell, a seafoam-y green glitter.

I thought this would be a little more opaque, which is my only disappointment. It isn't and I ended up layering  2 coats of Bombshell over Zoya Neely from my last post, since I was already wearing it! It's pretty but didn't exactly WOW me. If you like glitter though, for $2.99 I would pick this up!!

Zoya Neely

Hello again! As my second installment from Zoya's Lovely collection, I have the green polish called Neely. The formula on this gave me some issues; I found it to be a bit watery. Other than that, I really like this polish. I'm a sucker for greens, and this is no exception. Unlike Julie, in my last post, this has no shimmer and is a straight creme polish.

I love it! All pictures are at 3 coats.

China Glaze: Keep Calm, Paint On

Today I have a snow day!! We are getting the Midwest blizzard (affectionately called "snowmageddon") so my workplace closed. I used the time to catch up on some swatching!! I have four of the China Glaze spring collection shades. With the limitations on photo positioning on my phone, I'll be posting them one at a time.

Today I have, as you probably figured from the title (hah!), Keep Calm, Paint On. This is a light, minty green with silver shimmer. I didn't see the shimmer at first but it's really pretty. Noticeable but still subtle in an elegant way. The formula was thick but not hard to work with and this is 3 coats!

If you're also getting the snow then please be careful and drive safely!
